The room boasted incredible height, and we knew we had to celebrate it. The brief was to design a space that felt substantial and grand—reminiscent of a classic university library rather than a standard townhouse TV room. To achieve this, we utilised every single inch of vertical space.
The anchor of the room is the magnificent, deep-stained cherry wood unit. It beautifully commands the entire wall, bringing a warmth, richness, and gravity unique to natural timber. It is refined, completely bespoke, and showcases custom joinery at its finest.
The custom ladder is a beautiful feature in its own right—precision-engineered on a sleek metal rail to provide effortless access to the upper shelving. Beyond framing the styled library shelves, the bespoke cabinetry houses both an integrated desk and a home cinema projector. This versatility allows the room to transition from a productive workspace to a relaxing home cinema, demonstrating how technology can be woven into a design without overpowering the space.
Paired with plush leather recliners, the design balances the rich, dark timber with soft, modern comfort. It recaptures the timeless, inviting atmosphere of a classic gentleman’s parlour, redesigned perfectly for contemporary living.
