Who we are

This website, andrewryan.ie, is operated by Ryan Furniture Manufacturing Limited, trading as Andrew Ryan (“Andrew Ryan”, “we”, “us”), a company registered in Ireland under company number 100193, with our registered office and showroom at Clonattin Lower, Gorey, Co. Wexford, Y25 XH70. We are the data controller for personal information collected through this website.

The information we collect

Information you give us. When you request our Lookbook, book a consultation or otherwise contact us, we collect the details you provide. These may include your name, email address, phone number, postal address or project location, the type of project you are planning, your approximate budget and timescales, and any other information you choose to include in your message. If you become a client, we also hold the information needed to design, manufacture and install your project, such as property details, measurements, design drawings, photographs of the space, and invoicing and payment records.

Information collected automatically. When you visit our website we collect certain technical information, such as your IP address, browser type, device, the pages you view, how you arrived at our site and how long you spend on it. Some of this is collected through cookies and similar technologies, as described in the Cookies section below.

If you arrive at our website from an advert or marketing campaign, we record the campaign source (for example, UTM tags or a Google Ads click reference) and store it with any enquiry you send us. This helps us understand which of our marketing is working.

How we use your information and our legal basis

Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the Irish Data Protection Acts 1988 to 2018, we only use your personal information where we have a lawful basis to do so:

• Responding to enquiries and sending your Lookbook. We do this to take steps at your request before entering into a contract, or because we have a legitimate interest in responding to people who contact us.
• Arranging consultations, preparing designs and quotations, and delivering your project. This is necessary to perform our contract with you, or to take steps at your request before a contract is agreed.
• Following up on your enquiry. We may contact you by phone or email about the project you enquired about. This is in our legitimate interest in helping you with your project, and you can ask us to stop at any time.
• Sending news, inspiration and offers by email. We only do this where you have given your consent. You can withdraw consent at any time using the unsubscribe link in any email or by contacting us.
• Understanding how our website is used and improving it. We use analytics tools for this. Where these use non-essential cookies, we only set them with your consent.
• Keeping records and meeting legal obligations. This includes accounting, tax and legal requirements, and establishing or defending legal claims.

Who we share your information with

We never sell your personal information. Enquiries submitted through our website are stored in Scribe, our in-house customer relationship management system, which is used only by the Andrew Ryan team to manage enquiries, consultations and projects. Our design and marketing team includes colleagues at our sister company in the United Kingdom, Andrew Ryan Limited (registered in England and Wales), who may access your enquiry to help with your project.

We also share information with trusted service providers who help us run our business and who process it on our behalf under contract. These include:

• Supabase, which hosts Scribe on servers in the European Union
• our website hosting provider (Kinsta)
• our website platform and form providers (WordPress, Elementor)
• Automattic (Jetpack), for website visitor statistics, image delivery and security protection
• Google, for analytics, tag management and advertising measurement (Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager and Google Ads)
• Meta Platforms (Facebook and Instagram), for advertising measurement through the Meta Pixel
• email delivery services
• our professional advisers, such as accountants and solicitors

Where it is necessary to deliver your project, we may also share relevant details with installers, trades or suppliers working with us. We may disclose information where required by law or to protect our legal rights.

International transfers

Our CRM data is stored in the European Union. Where information is shared with our UK sister company, the transfer is covered by the European Commission’s adequacy decision for the United Kingdom. Some of our other service providers are based outside the European Economic Area, including in the United States. Where your information is transferred outside the EEA, we make sure appropriate safeguards are in place, such as the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses, the EU–US Data Privacy Framework, or transfers to countries the European Commission has confirmed provide adequate protection.

How long we keep your information

• Enquiries that don’t become projects: kept for up to 2 years from our last contact, then deleted.
• Client records: kept for 6 years after the project is completed, to meet tax, accounting and legal obligations.
• Marketing preferences: kept until you unsubscribe, after which we keep a minimal record so that we don’t contact you again.
• Analytics data: retained according to our analytics settings, which is 14 months for Google Analytics.

Cookies

Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. In line with the ePrivacy Regulations (S.I. No. 336 of 2011), we use:

• Strictly necessary cookies, which make the website work and keep it secure. These cannot be switched off.
• Analytics cookies, such as Google Analytics loaded through Google Tag Manager, which help us understand how visitors use the site so that we can improve it.
• Marketing cookies, set by Google Ads and the Meta Pixel, which help us measure the effectiveness of our advertising and show relevant adverts on Google, Facebook and Instagram.

We only set analytics and marketing cookies if you agree to them through the cookie banner shown when you first visit. You can change your choices at any time through the Cookie Settings link at the bottom of every page, or by adjusting your browser settings.

Your rights

Under the GDPR, you have the right to:

• access the personal information we hold about you
• ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete information
• ask us to delete your information
• object to or restrict how we use your information
• ask us to transfer your information to another organisation
• withdraw your consent at any time, where we rely on consent

Complaints

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, please contact us first so that we can try to put it right. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Data Protection Commission, Ireland’s data protection authority, at dataprotection.ie.

Security

We use appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your information, including encrypted (HTTPS) connections and restricted access to our systems.
