In a large open-plan room, symmetry calms the layout. The client wanted a dedicated entertaining space that mirrored the breakfast station on the opposite side, keeping guest traffic away from the chef at the range. The goal was for these cabinets to transition the room from a quiet Tuesday morning breakfast to a lively Saturday night drink.
The magic lies in the design of the bi-fold doors, finished in a distinctive Farrow & Ball Hague Blue. When folded back, they reveal a rich oak interior lined with an antique mirrored splashback that catches the light beautifully. Integrated task lighting sits above the custom-carved timber stemware racks, casting a warm glow over the glassware and display shelves.
The design offers the best of both worlds. Closed, it functions as elegant architectural furniture. Open, the integrated lighting immediately transforms the kitchen into a social space. It is functional, welcoming, and built to be used.
