Wicklow Barn Conversion Walk-in Pantry

Set behind Crittall-style glazed doors, this walk-in pantry turns everyday storage into a beautiful design feature. Intentionally shallow oak shelving means groceries and small appliances are easy to see at a glance, while soft off-white cabinetry keeps the look calm, cohesive, and perfectly balanced with the main open-plan kitchen.

The Brief

Sometimes pantries are dark cupboards where jars of sauce go to expire. We wanted to avoid that trap completely. The brief was to create a storage space that adds character to the kitchen rather than just being a hole in the wall.

The Details

The client installed a Crittal-style door. It physically separates the food storage from the main kitchen, keeping the clutter contained, but visually keeps the sightlines open. Inside, we used natural oak open shelving against soft off-white closed cabinetry and a useful worktop area. Crucially, the shelves are shallow, meaning you can see everything at a glance, transforming a standard storage space into a masterclass in organisation.
