The goal was simple: get the guests out of the cooking area without kicking them out of the kitchen. The client needed a dedicated entertaining hub-somewhere to decant a red or mix a drink. This space needed to feel distinct from the main prep area, while remaining seamlessly integrated into the room’s classic architecture.
We designed this as a piece of furniture first. The crisp Farrow & Ball – All White cabinetry frames the warm, oak interiors, creating a rich backdrop for the glassware behind the glazed doors. The engineering highlight is the pocket door; it slides effortlessly into the wall to reveal a floor-to-ceiling oak wine feature with integrated diamond lattice storage. With twin under-counter coolers and a dedicated prep sink, it’s a fully self-contained station.
This is purposeful design at its best. It offers serious capacity – hundreds of bottles stored properly – without dominating the room. It’s elegant and understated when closed, but slide that door back, and it’s ready for a party.
